FAQs

Common questions about Dry Needling

Q: Is Dry Needling painful?

A: Most people tolerate needling with no problems. With the needle being incredibly small, the discomfort is typically mild-to-non-existent. You can expect to feel a slight prick sensation, dull ache, or even a twitch reponse from the targeted muscle.

Q: Is Dry Needling the same as Acupuncture?

A: Not exactlly. Unlike acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine and aims to balance the body's energy flow, dry needling is grounded in Western medicine principles and focuses on musculoskeletal and neuromuscular systems.

Q: I hate needles. Do I have to be needled if I make an appointment?

A: Not at all! It's completely up to the patient. Some people love it and frequently request it. We will occasionally reccomend dry needling, but it is ultimately up to the patient to decide.
